This course is recognised as a precursor to The Advanced Leadership Course and is designed for managers who have recently taken up a leadership role or those identified as potential ‘leaders of people’.  The course provides the basic tools for managers to confidently adapt to a change in their roles and responsibilities.  It is also suitable as refresher training for those returning to a leadership role or managers that have identified their own leadership training needs.
What does it cover?

1.  The difference between Leadership and Management.

2.  Leadership styles.

3.  What makes a good Leader?

4.  Emotional Intelligence.

5.  Effective Communication.

6.  Followership.

7.  Feedback.

8.  Discussion and Evaluation.

"Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity".

How long does it last?
This is usually a 2-day non-residential course.  However, we would be happy to tailor the course to suit a residential programme.
Where does it take place?
The majority of the course material will be delivered in a ‘classroom’ environment usually within your place of work (non-residential); however, there may be at least one practical exercise that is conducted in a suitably identified outdoor area.
How much does it cost?
The Foundations for Leadership Course fee is £250 per delegate if non-residential (not including VAT).
How many people will there be on my course?
To promote an environment conducive to inclusivity, the minimum/maximum numbers of delegates attending is 4/12.
